Week 18: Tuesday

Catalina,
I am writing to you because I know of a student who attacked another student and my guide is totally insensitive to the situation.  I know you better than any of my teachers and I hope you can help me.

Ita,

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. Why don't you tell me what happened? Maybe we can come up with a way that I can help.

Last week, this guy, Caibre Ashwood, stalked my friend (she doesn't want to report it, so I'm keeping her name out of it for now) when she was walking in the woods. He was all bloody and totally freaking her out. When she tried to get away, he chased her, and then attacked her, knocking her off a cliff. There was water underneath so she wasn't seriously injured, but he could have killed her!

Mr. Besson seemed to think he was simply being 'rude' or that he was affected by the moon since Caibre is a were. But really, weres don't go around doing that when they're not shifted, do they? I am afraid he is just an evil person and will try to hurt her again. Also, I have evidence of the bruising from the attack.

Ita,

There are a lot of variables, given that he is a were. It's true, he might have been experiencing some sort of effect because of the moon - it depends on how long he has been one, really.

I'd be more than happy to speak with Mr. Ashwood and/or his guide if you'd like. While being a were might explain some of his behavior, it doesn't completely excuse attacking another student.

Catalina,
I would appreciate it and thank you so much! My friend is afraid of retaliation from Caibre or other students, as she is not particularly strong in her own powers. If there's any way to speak to him without specifically addressing the incident... I mean, I know it's probably difficult to do that, just, she's very afraid.

Ita,

I'll get in contact with his guide first, perhaps between the two of us we can work something out. I'm afraid it'll be difficult without mentioning the incident, but I'll see what I can do.

I understand. I will talk to my friend, too - try to convince her to come forward. But after Mr. Besson's reaction, I see why she's afraid. If no one takes care of him, then he'll just be angry and come after her, I've no doubt.

Ita,

It's understandable that she's afraid. I've contacted Caibre's guide and am waiting to hear his thoughts. She can rest assured, if nothing else occurs, I'll speak with him myself and alert the administration. If he's demonstrating a continued risk to other students, something needs to be done.
